House: Epic Fail 9/28/09

September 30, 2009 · Posted in entertainment · Comment

So last week we got House with no team and this week we got the team with no House. House is out of the mental institute but decides he must quit his job at the hospital in order to stay clean.  Foreman desperately wants Houses’ job which really wasn’t that big of a shock, and Cuddy decides to give him a chance.

While Foreman leads the team or basically does what he wants and ignores the others on a case, House is trying to keep himself busy.  House is staying with Wilson and has started up cooking trying to keep his mind off his leg.

The patient this week is a computer geek who refuses to listen to the Drs and chooses instead to try and diagnose himself on the internet.  Foreman alienates 13 and Taub, Taub eventually quits, stating he only came there to work with House.

The patient opens up a question and answer type forum online trying to get someone to diagnose him correctly.  Ultimately 13 reads 1 diagnoses in the emails and believes it is the correct answer. Without Foreman’s knowledge she begins treating the patient.  The diagnosis is finally correct.

The online diagnosis was made by guess who?  House!  He and his shrink decide the only way to keep himself happy is to work at the hospital.

Foreman fires 13!

The previews for next week show House back with his original 3 team members, Foreman, Chase and Cameron.  Can’t wait.

Dexter: Living the Dream

I started watching Dexter I think year before last during the writers strike. The played Season 1 of Dexter on Prime Time and I have to say despite the fact that Dexter is a serial killer I fell in love with the show.

Of course only season 1 was aired on prime time and well I don’t have show time so I watched season 2 online then followed along last fall and watched season 3. Of course I will be also watching season 4 online so I am always behind from when it actually airs.

As for the season opener, all I can say is wow! Dexter doesn’t scare me at all, The Trinity Killer (John Lithgow) however, scares the crap out of me. I have never seen any scary movies with John Lithgow but hubby informed me that Lithgow plays scary very well. Which doesn’t surprise me at all.

As I sat here alone watching the first episode I was wondering if I was going to be able to handle this season, being the chicken that I am. I guess we will see as the season progresses.

Cold Case: The Crossing

Cold Case is a show that my mom recommended to me a few years ago.  I am starting to see a pattern with my mom recommending new crime shows to me! :)  I had totally forgot but she is also the one who got me watching NCIS too.

Anyway, as I started watching Cold Case Sunday night Without a Trace just popped in my head.  Then I thought what happened to it.  So I had to come and search the internet and found out that Cold Case and Without a Trace were up for possible cancellation last Spring.  At first they thought Cold Case would go and ultimately it was Without a Trace they let got of.  I have to say it saddened me, I loved Without a Trace and watched it for years and hate that they didn’t even get a decent goodbye.

Okay so back to Cold Case.  I have to say I am really scared for what Lilly is going to do now to that guy who got out of jail this week for trying to kill her. At first I thought he was going to go after her again but I have to say I think she may go after him.

Also did anyone notice the girl who played Grace was Ashley Johnson who played Chrissy Seaver on Growing Pains back when she was a little bitty thing?

No Elimination on Biggest Loser Week 2

September 27, 2009 · Posted in entertainment · Comment

This week Ali challenges the contestants to lose 150 lbs collectively.  If they achieve the goal then no one goes home, but if they don’t 2 people go home.

Week 2 is a very bad week in Biggest Loser history, Bob and Jillian have very little confidence that this can be accomplished.  During the first challenge the contestants win a 15lb advantage, now they only have to lose 135.  However during a second challenge they win a 20lb advantage.  Now they only have to lose 115lbs.

Needless to say their workouts were grueling.  But as they all began taking their turns weighing something amazing happened.  Not only did they exceed the 115lb goal, but collectively they lost 155lbs.

Because of that no one was eliminated this week.  So I wonder if 2 people will be eliminated next week to make up for the extra week?

The Mentalist: Redemption

September 27, 2009 · Posted in entertainment · Comment

The Mentalist is the second show that my mom recommended I check out.  This was the first episode I have ever watched.  I am not familiar with any of the characters but I did enjoy the show very much.

I think I will keep it on my DVR list, the list that seems to be growing and growing.    It has taken me all week to watch the 14 shows I have scheduled Monday through Friday.  Not to mention that I have 2 Sunday night shows.  That gives me a total of 16 shows a week.  Oh my!

Thankfully I have DVR so I can watch them at any time and I can skip all the commercials which knocks at least 15 minutes off per show.  Also I skip a lot on Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance.  I knock those shows at least in half and I do not watch DWTS reveal night.  So that makes 14 45 minute shows plus 2 about 30 minute shows.

The question is, will I be able to keep up!
