Kara DioGuardi is Out! American Idol is Losing Judges Left and Right

September 6, 2010 · Posted in entertainment, television · Comment

Wow, what a year for American IdolSimon Cowell leaves and Ellen Degeneres gets the boot.   Nygel Lythgoe is back as Executive Producer and it looks like he is going for a total revamp.

We find out just a couple weeks ago that Steven Tyler is reportedly going to replace one of the Judges for Season 10.  So what does that leave?  Randy, Kara and Steven Tyler for Season 10?  Not exactly!

Apparently the purging of American Idol Judges wasn’t quite complete.  This Friday, September 3rd, Fox officially announced that Kara DioGuardi will no longer be with the show.

So, the Season 10 Judges are looking like Randy, Steven Tyler and possibly Jennifer Lopez.  I have to say I am not so sure I am even going to want to watch.

What are your thoughts on all the American Idol Changes?

Paycheck: Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman

September 6, 2010 · Posted in entertainment, movies · 3 Comments

Last night hubs and I were relxaing watching episodes of X-Files on Netflix streaming and decided to look for a movie.   He came across Paycheck and started talking about how much he enjoyed the movie.  I couldn’t remember it, the only thing I could come up with was Reindeer Games. He assured me I had the right actor but wrong movie.  Anyway we decided to watch again.

Despite the fact that I could never see Ben Affleck and Uma Thurman as romantic counter parts I totally enjoyed the movie.

I was also very surprised to see a young “Dexter“  in this movie!

Murder She Wrote: Murder Digs Deep

I find it so interesting that every single episode I am seeing stars.  I don’t know, maybe they weren’t big stars at the time or maybe back then stars did a lot more guest appearances.  On this episode I recognized Connie Stevens, Randolph Mantooth and Stephen Shortridge.  I also learned that they all guest starred on Fantasy Island and Love Boat.

Anyway, in this episode Jessica heads to New Mexico to meet Dr. Hazlitt for an Archeological dig.  Every night an Indian appears up on a bluff overlooking the site and begins singin some type of war cry warning.  Until one night Cynthia, the wife of the man paying for the dig, shoots the Indian and he falls off the bluff.

Per usual Jessica, along with the help of Dr. Hazlitt are able to determine the victim has died of drowning in the desert.  Not from falling off the bluff. Now they have to figure out where this source of water is and who did the drowning.  After using her sleuthing skills Jessica finds a cave where not only is there water but there are gold artifacts.

In the end Jessica determines that Cynthia unbeknownst to her husband actually owns the land where they are running the dig and has set the whole thing up because she wants to divorce her husband.  The gold artifacts were staged and so was the “Indian”.  The murder was real.

The Pink Panther 2: Steve Martin, Andy Garcia

September 3, 2010 · Posted in entertainment, movies · Comment

We actually watched The Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin and Andy Garcia when it first came out but tonight we watched it again.

My husband got home late last night from a business trip so tonight after the girls got home from school I made dinner and we sat down to a family friendly movie.  This is not necessarily one of my favorites however the girls and hubby think it’s pretty funny.  Definitely a perfect role for Steve Martin.

I am pretty sure I will not sit through it a 3rd time but then again I was pretty sure I wouldn’t sit through it a 2nd.
